Adelaide

Race Director's Report

Adelaide continued an impressive attendance trend this weekend as a record crowd turned out for Race 3 of the NISSAN/BRW Corporate Triathlon National Series 2009.

The snug Midcourse Reserve, tucked in between the imposing ‘Footy Park’ and the picturesque West Lakes was in stark contrast from Perth’s seemingly never ending Langley Park & Swan River from Race 2, but it fits the Adelaide event like a glove – you could say it’s the perfect ‘small time’ event venue.

Apart from a steady offshore breeze that hampered any chance of a blistering time, the weather was fine and the racing even better! Solid performances saw NHP1, Ernerst & Young Female Sprint, Turkey Flat, URS 3, Prescott Securities, ABB Schooner, Chicks Rules and Emergency Services Team 1 record impressive wins in the Sprint and Main Race categories.

The fourth race in the series touches down in Sydney on Sunday 5 April where another capacity crowd is expected to compete in one of the most breathtaking triathlon venues in the world - Mrs. Macquarie’s Point!

A big thank you to all athletes, supporters and volunteers who helped produce yet another successful Adelaide event.

We hope to see you bigger and better in 2010!
