The GM's Report
Today was the culmination of the Nissan Corporate Triathlon National Series with our last Event for the year held in perfect conditions on the Gold Coast.
With a capacity field of 3300 competitors the start of the day was picture perfect with blue skies, a gentle breeze and not a cloud hanging over the infamous Doug Jennings Reserve.
Corporate Queensland was out to make its mark and that they did with a flurry of spectators, work colleagues and family coming out to cheer on 1100 corporate teams over a 400m swim, 10km cycle and 4 km run.
The atmosphere from early light right through to event finish was amazing and a big thank you to every competitor and supporter for making this a great way to bring the season to an end.
Congratulations to everyone who competed today and to our Category Winners. In fact today was not only about crossing the line first , it was about those who competed for the first time and those who ran a personal best and to the teams who just enjoyed the experience- I extend my personal thanks and congratulations.
This has been a great National Series and on behalf of SuperSprint I would to thank our naming rights partner Nissan who have been great fun to work with. Nissan's support in this Series is invaluable. And to all of our Partners, supporters, marshals, contractors and volunteers thanks for a great 2012 season. Finally to the 16,500 participants who swam, cycled and ran - Well done and thanks for being part of the Series.
