Race 7 - St Kilda Triathlon
Race Director's Report
Dear competitor,
Congratulations to all finishers! We hope you enjoyed the event and had a great race! Conditions were ideal and it was a very fitting Series Finale! Congratulations to Marcel Walkington and Madeleine Oldfield for their wins especially to Marcel as a junior who Peter “Robbo” Robertson says has such a bright future in the sport.
Well done to all age group winners, placegetters and all the first timers and Active Feet participants.Congratulations to Craig McKenzie and Madeleine Oldfield for taking out the Series especially Craig who claimed his 6th Series win and to all age group winners and placegetters!

This year it was the first time we have had a 7 race Series and there have been some great races over the season from Brighton to Sandringham to Elwood to Portarlington and to today! The new Brighton race and the new Portarlington long courses were highlights.

The weather this season has probably challenged us more than any previous season and we were unlucky with the heavy rainfalls the day before the first 2 races but then lucky with other races where strong winds hit after Sandringham. The racing over the season was exciting and it is great to see that last season’s Series winner and winner of Race 3 Brendan Sexton looks like securing a place on the Australian Olympic Team.
We start our plans for next year’s Series shortly and will be reverting back to a 6 race Series but will be seeking your feedback to assist us in our planning process. We are looking forward to introducing some major changes and improvements to next year’s Series. Thank you once again for supporting the Series. All the best for your training over winter and we look forward to seeing you next season.
Kind regards
David Hansen
