Trial Run

Trail Running - What to wear & take

Starting out on the trails might give you just the excuse you need to go shopping. Most of the time your regular road running outfits will do just fine, but if you want to get specially kitted out here are a few pointers.

  • Road shoes are fine for trail runs, however dedicated trail shoes have advantages such as increased traction and water resistance
  • For the rest of your body you need to think comfort and warmth
  • Invest in some polypro gloves and a beanie for colder days
  • A good running shirt will keep you cool on a hot day, and on a wet day it will not cling to you as a cold, soggy mess
