Run for BCNA and Run for FREE

BCNA

As part of SuperSprint's commitment to assist fundraising for the Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA), participants in the 2008 event are being offered the opportunity to RUN FOR FREE!

That's right, simply raise above the nominated fundraising target of $200 and your entry fee will be refunded!

BCNA's message:

Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA) is proud to be associated with the Sussan Women’s Fun Run and we encourage everyone to take part in this fun event.

Why not combine a fundraising effort into your fun run with family and friends. It’s so easy and can make a huge difference to the life of someone affected by breast cancer.

You could get a team together, gather sponsorships or conduct fundraising activities and ask your company to match every dollar you raise.

All money raised for BCNA is tax deductible, and will go into empowering, informing and representing women with breast cancer throughout Australia.

Each year in Australia over 13,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer. It’s your support with fundraising through events such as the Sussan Women’s Fun Run that means we are able to continue our vital work.

Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA) works to ensure that all women diagnosed with breast cancer, and their families receive the very best treatment, care and support possible.

Please join the 2008 Sussan Women’s Fun Run and get involved with us by raising funds through GoFundraise (link below)

Fernwood - Koula's Story Part 2

Fernwood

The Sussan Women’s Fun Run e-newsletters is following the progress of Koula, BDM from Fernwood Women’s Health Clubs, as she trains for the event.

Koula’s Diary Part 2:

Unfortunately over the last month I have let life and work get the better of me and I have not been able to train as much as I would have liked to. I have only managed to jog a couple of times and the farthest distance I’ve reached so far has been 4 km.

I have made a promise to myself to get back on track and my aim is to be able to jog at least 6 km by the end of October –  I’ll let you know how I go!

Fernwood’s advice:

Everyone struggles to find the time to train Koula, so you’re not alone! The key is to get into a routine and try to make running a regular part of your week. Also remember that variety is important in a successful training plan, so if you’re getting board with running, try to incorporate different types of exercise into your routine. Strength training for example, can dramatically benefit running performance by building muscle strength and endurance which will enable you to run faster for longer.

Visit www.fernwoodfitness.com.au for training plans, expert advice and tips.
