Welcome to the 2XU Great Ocean & Otway Classic Ride 2009 - one of Australia's most spectacular recreational rides!

This year’s ride will once again offer a high quality event jersey by 2XU, a picturesque course, and the highest quality event organisation, including SRAM mechanical support, medical support, refreshment stops and traffic management.

With the event going into its third year, we would like to thank those riders who have supported the event in 2007 & 2008 as they return to this unique and magnificent ride. We also look forward to welcoming new riders to take in the breathtaking sights of the beautiful Great Ocean Road and Otway Ranges!

  • Enter via our new secure online entry system only
  • Enter now! The first 3,000 entrants (in either the 145km or 60km ride) are guaranteed an exclusive 2XU event jersey. Fields expected to fill quickly.
  • Event kit (including jersey and race bib) mailed to participants prior to the event
  • Limited field – 3000 (145km) and 500 (60km)
  • No entries on event day

NOTE: Entries CLOSE Monday 16 March 2009 or earlier if field limit is reached! Last year the field limit was reached 6 weeks prior to the event. Enter early to avoid disappointment!

NB - Minimum age 16 years for the 60km ride, and 18 years for the 145km ride, as of event day 28th March 2009 .

The 2XU Great Ocean & Otway Classic Ride 2009 event jersey is here!

Get your entry in early as the first 3,000 riders entered in either the 145km or 60km event will receive a high performance 2XU Cycling Jersey (RRP $139.00).

The superior quality, fit and design of the previous year's 2XU jersey made them enormously popular and frequently spotted along Beach Rd every Saturday and Sunday morning, so don't miss out on your opportunity to be seen training in this year's new design to be eligible to WIN spot prizes!

 

Jersey

 

To ensure you receive a well fitted jersey please refer to the sizing table on our website. You will also have the opportunity to try on the jersey for sizing at the 2XU DFO Spencer Street store in the City - available now to try on!

From November 24, the jerseys will also be available to try on at the following 2XU Performance Centre's - Hawthorn, Malvern or Hampton.

Once you determine your ideal fit you will be required to select your chosen size when entering via our new online entry system.

Please choose your jersey size carefully! Due to manufacturing restrictions and the specific sizing of orders, SuperSprint will not exchange jersey’s pre or post event if the incorrect size is selected!

Enter by November 30th 2008 and your jersey will be mailed out to you during the first two weeks of December!

Profiles and Log-In Details

Entry into the 2XU Great Ocean & Otway Classic Ride is via our new secure online entry system (No fax or mail entries).

If you have entered any SuperSprint events within the last 3 years, you will already have a profile, so click on Enter Online - Login from the SuperSprint homepage. Please note that your "username" is your First Name and Surname together with no space in between. Passwords will carry over from the old online entry system.

When you login to the new system, please check that your profile details are correct and updated. You'll also note additional fields, such as Emergency Contact details, that will require input.

If you are new to SuperSprint events, click on Enter Online - Register from the SuperSprint homepage, then click on "Create a Profile" and enter your details, making sure you follow the guidelines to the right of screen.

Important Notes

  • Once you have logged in or created yourself a new profile, go to the Event you wish to enter - "2XU Great Ocean & Otway Classic Ride". (Events are listed under the "Event" tab at the top of the website page). Then click on "Enter Online" on the left hand side menu bar of the 2XU Great Ocean & Otway Classic Ride website page.
  • When you have finished entering the event, please "LOG OUT" of your profile. Particularly if you are entering for your friend as well - you'll need to log out, and register again with a new profile for your friend.

All companies, clubs or training groups who enter with a group of 10 riders or more have the chance to go in the draw to WIN a catered VIP Marquee at the finish area after the ride.

For your chance to soak up the atmosphere of the post ride festival in your own team marquee including BBQ catering, refreshments and a personal team masseur, follow the instructions below to enter as a team.

The winning team will be drawn and notified two weeks prior to the event. Last year Qantas (pictured) were the lucky winners!

Hotham & Dinner Plain Festival of Cycling

Hotham and Dinner Plain will host the DP Festival of Cycling, a three day event celebrating riding in the Australian Alps. March 7 to 9, 2009.

The festival will combine:

  • Ridewiser Coaching Clinic with former Olympian Rob Crowe;
  • The Hotham Challenge Ride with riders choosing a return leg from Dinner Plain to Buckland Gate (45km), Harrietville (80km) or Bright (128km) on some of Australian most challenging road climbs;
  • A fun ride to the charming Blue Duck Inn at Angler’s Rest; and
  • loads of social events.
