The warm Sunday conditions made for fast racing with 07/08 series winner Kristian McCartney and 2008 Olympian Erin Densham taking out their elite categories respectively and proving they’ll be hard to beat come Race 6 – St Kilda.
As always, thank you to all athletes and volunteers who helped Elwood Beach come to life for the second time this series.
Thank you to all participants for completing the post-event survey. The Race 5 survey winner was TONY VRDOLYAK - congratulations!

Bike Insurance & Security

Competitors need to be covered by own Bike Insurance
The Triathlon Australia (TA) event insurance does not cover for equipment stolen from the compound. It is the event organisers responsibility to have a secure bike compound, but the event organisers are not liable for equipment stolen from the compound.
SuperSprint strongly recommends that competitors, especially those who own expensive bikes, seek insurance that covers their bike for 12 months for damage and theft, including travel, and in training and competition
Three companies that cover bikes are:
- Triathlon Australia - Click Here for Detailed Policy - See page 1, "Other Optional Insurance”
- Cycle Cover - Click Here for Website
- Cycle Smart Bike Insurance - available through CBD Cycles 9639 2299
At the same time, SuperSprint will do its up most to provide the best possible security for all competitors.

active feet Podiatry Tip

By Rick Osler, Podiatrist
When should I change my shoes over?
Shoes typically last 600-800km (6-10months average). Other contributing factors include non running wear time, the surfaces you train on, your weight, and of course your individual biomechanics.
Running is hard enough on the body, don't let your shoes contribute to it. Drop into active feet (Camberwell, Prahran, Heathmont), and we will assess your shoes and running biomechanics free of charge.
