Official Event Charity - Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation
![]()
The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) is the official charity partner for this year’s series and you have the opportunity to support JDRF when you register for the event.
JDRF raises funds for medical research to find a cure for type 1 diabetes, a disease impacting over 140,000 people in Australia.
Over 2000 new cases are diagnosed every year; many of these are in young children. Whilst people with type 1 diabetes have to inject themselves with insulin up to 8 times a day, insulin is NOT a cure, merely a means of staying alive.
Even with insulin, people with type 1 diabetes face a lifelong risk of health complications such as blindness, kidney failure, heart disease and limb amputation.
Your support will help find the cure. Thank you.

Terra Firma

The last minute training is in full swing for all Terra Firma team members. There was a great turn out of Terra Firma staff at last weekends Brooks Fun Tri in Melbourne last weekend as a warm up for the big race.
A punctured tyre, some backstroking and wetsuits left at home rather than being packed in the race bag did not dampen the spirits.
There has been a big increase in salads for lunch and the use of diet shakes as the team rivalry hots up and the realisation hits that there is less than 2 weeks left before the Lycra is pulled on.
The bookies have started taking bets and after some solid results on Sunday the odds have started to shorten on our gun teams.
Keep up the training and see you all on the day!
