Sydney Wrap Up

The Sydney venue for the NISSAN/BRW Corporate Triathlon National Series is quite simply amazing - a ‘must do’ for thousands of Sydney corporates, set against the Sydney Harbour backdrop.
Teams battled to cover themselves (and of course their company) in workplace sporting glory! 4,000 participants turned out for the 2009 event, some vying for that illustrious podium position, others there to just to have fun, represent their company and hopefully, beat the boss!
Morning cloud did little to dampen the enthusiasm of the competitors as they completed the 400m swim, 8km cycle and 4km run in some surprisingly fast times, Olympic superstar Courtney Atkinson leading the way impressively. Winning teams are noted below, with Pelikan Artline also doing very well taking out the Corporate Colours for 2009.
Results
Main Race Winning Male Team: McGrathNicol A-team
Main Race Winning Female Team: CBA
Main Race Winning Mixed Team: Team RBS
Main Race Winning Informal Team: Red Bull

CycleSmart is a bike specific insurance policy designed to cover you against accidental damage, theft and fire as well as providing $1,000,000 in Third Party protection. With a range of different options available, there is a cover for everyone from the casual rider to the dedicated racer. Official Event Charity - Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation
![]()
The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) is the official charity partner for this year’s series and you have the opportunity to support JDRF when you register for the event.
JDRF raises funds for medical research to find a cure for type 1 diabetes, a disease impacting over 140,000 people in Australia.
Over 2000 new cases are diagnosed every year; many of these are in young children. Whilst people with type 1 diabetes have to inject themselves with insulin up to 8 times a day, insulin is NOT a cure, merely a means of staying alive.
Even with insulin, people with type 1 diabetes face a lifelong risk of health complications such as blindness, kidney failure, heart disease and limb amputation.
Your support will help find the cure. Thank you.

Environmental Tip and What's On
Up at Mount Tomah Botanic Garden, the vistas are red and gold.
After the spectacle is over, fallen leaves will be used to enrich the garden whence they came. Don't miss the show at Mount Tomah and when you get back, make use of your garden's fallen leaves by adding them, along with chopped green plant clippings and blood and bone, to your compost heap. This will act as an extremely efficient nutrient-rich fertiliser for your garden.

Terra Firma

Congratulations to all the teams who competed in the Sydney BRW. Sydney put on a great show with perfect weather, the bridge and opera house as a back drop and the added bonus of no sharks that were hungry. Outstanding results were posted by all competitors and the team spirit really sparkled.
Queensland is the last event on the calendar and the interstate rivalry is fierce. It’s Melbourne (or as we are also known as the “Cold Coast”) versus the Gold Coast.
With the last event only two weeks away, our business consultants are now taking that ‘team spirit’ and ‘winning nature’ back to their roles in the Business Transformation, Business Analysis, Project Management and Learning and Development spaces.
Come and talk to us at the Gold Coast event, or in one of our state based offices, and we can discuss your needs and how Terra Firma’s experience can provide a solid ground to deliver sustainable business value.
