The Degani Kinglake Ride is already proving to be quite the hit, attracting over 200 cyclists in it's opening week! Kinglake is a popular training ground for some of Australia’s elite cyclists such as Cadel Evans, and event ambassador Will Walker, with both rides (120km & 70km) winding their way through the tree-lined country roads and the rolling hills of the magnificent Kinglake National Park.
Following the success of the Great Ocean & Otway Classic Ride, and SuperSprint’s reputation as leaders in event organisation, the event will deliver the usual high standard of safety and course management, such as on-course medical & mechanical support, frequent refreshment stops and ride escorts. Categories & Start ZonesThe event will be run with seeded start zones. Individuals in both the 120km and 70km rides must also select a category to indicate the approximate time they estimate it will take them to complete the course. The km/h indicators are based on completing the ride non-stop. If you are planning to stop for breaks at the refreshment stations or to enjoy lunch somewhere on course we recommended selecting a category below your average riding speed. A stunning course featuring country Victoria’s prized Kinglake National Park, with 6 refreshment stops – 1 every 20km to 30km! The course takes cyclists through the quiet country towns of Yan Yean, Arthurs Creek, St Andrews, Kinglake, Castella, Glenburn, Flowerdale, Kinglake West and back to Whittelsea. The 70km event turn off is at the top of Kinglake, with cyclists heading down towards Kinglake West before returning to Whittlesea. This fantastic course features 2 challenging, yet breathtaking climbs with magnificent views of surrounding landscapes! The first being the 7.2km climb to the top of Kinglake National Park - 546m above sea level! Watch the rolling hills and trees drop away as you push towards the summit! The second climb kicks in as you leave Flowerdale, drawing you closer to the peak of Kinglake West! Course Profile 120km

Test yourself against Will Walker on the 7.2km climb into Kinglake. Will Walker is the inaugural Degani Kinglake Ride event ambassador and one of Australia’s rising stars currently racing in Europe. The climb starts 33.8km into the ride on Heidelberg Kinglake Road just outside St Andrews,and every couple of KM’s, Will Walker’s split time will be marked on the course for you to measure yourself against using your bike computer or stop-watch! So get those quad muscles working and challenge yourself against the pro’s! The event provides companies, training groups and clubs with the chance to share the experience of a spectacular ride with fellow staff or team members. This year all team entries in the 120km ride of over 10 participants have the chance to WIN a VIP marquee at the finish area with gourmet BBQ, refreshments and a masseur to relax and replenish after a challenging ride. The Pink Inc Ladies training group are entering and complemented SuperSprint on having the best recreational rides because of the quality organisation (and limited fields), great courses, value for money and fun atmosphere. Tri Alliance, the official training provider for SuperSprint, is excited to be involved with the Degani Kinglake Ride, providing a FREE program available for all participants leading up to the event. Additionally we would like to celebrate this event offering indoor spin sessions at Melbourne Sports & Aquatics Centre. These sessions are great to improve fitness, develop skills and learn and gain confidence with your bike.
